Activites

The Baha'i Faith is an independent world religion. It was founded in 1844 and has been present in Canada since 1898. Much like other Baha'is all around the world, we participate in activities such as:

Feast
Every 19 days we gather as a community for worship, community consultation, and socializing.

Holy Days
Special gatherings commemorate events in the history of the Faith and are open to all.

Study Classes
Informal study groups are usually held in community members' homes. Please join us and let us know what YOU would like to study, too.

Multi-Faith Devotional Gatherings

The schedule and venue for these vary. Please contact us  via emailfor upcoming schedule.

Children and Youth Programs
Offered for all ages, classes and activities emphasize applying spiritual principles to everyday life and developing virtues.

Service Projects
Our "adopt-a-highway" is now in its 19th year.

October 26 2019 we joined Baha'is throughout the world in commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Bab,the prophet of the Babi Faith and the herald of Baha’u’llah’s subsequent revelation - the Baha'i Faith.

The program here in North Dumfries included "artistic expressions" from around the world, remarks about the significance of this event, musical presentations, information displays, and refreshments.

Who is the Báb?

The Báb, whose title means “the Gate,” was a Messenger of God who called for the spiritual and moral regeneration of all of humanity. His mission was to prepare the way for the coming of yet another Messenger of God who would usher in a new era of peace promised in all the world religions. Bahá’ís recognize this latter Manifestation to be Bahá’u’lláh.

Though the specifics of the events varied according to the culture and preferences in each locality, the essence was the same.

The program here in North Dumfries included a brief introduction to the Faith and the significance of this event, musical presentations, a video, and refreshments.
